Volunteering with the Point Fermin Lighthouse Society

Have some spare time?  Interested in history?  Why not volunteer at the Point Fermin Lighthouse?  We are seeking motivated individuals to serve as greeters, tour guides, sales people, researchers, gardeners and special event staff.

 

Since 2003, when the Point Fermin Lighthouse first opened to the public, volunteer commitment has allowed for an ever growing number of visitors to tour the lighthouse.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong interest in the Point Fermin Lighthouse

  • Working with the public.

  • Genuine appreciation of all visitors and ability to convey information in a clear and friendly manner.

  • Commit to at least 4 continuous hours per month to devote to the program.

  • Available to volunteer from 12:30 pm – 4:00 pm  Tuesday through Sunday.

  • Volunteer Gardeners work on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 am – noon.

 

Responsibilities

  • Make a commitment of one year as an active volunteer


  • Meet three times for mentoring training (volunteers in training)


  • Volunteer for a minimum of four hours per month


  • Be punctual and otherwise dependable 

  • Represent the Point Fermin Lighthouse Society in a professional manner at all times
